Gluten-Free Zeppole di San Giuseppe

Ingredients

  • 250 ml water
  • 250 g Fioreglut Bread and Pizza Mix
  • 200 g vegetable margarine
  • 3 g salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 8 medium eggs

Description

Fioreglut Bread and Pizza Mix is a premium semi-finished product made from carefully selected gluten-free ingredients. It’s perfect for creating delicious savory baked goods like pizza, bread, and focaccia.

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Dough:
In a saucepan, combine the water, vegetable margarine, salt, and sugar. Heat the mixture over medium-high heat until it comes to a boil and the margarine has completely melted.

  2. Incorporate the Flour:
Once boiling, add the sifted Fioreglut Bread and Pizza Mix. Stir vigorously until the dough pulls away from the sides of the pan and forms a cohesive ball.

  3. Add Flavor and Eggs:
Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the vanilla extract. Gradually add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Continue mixing until the dough is soft and velvety; it should be thick enough to hold its shape but not runny.

  4. Pipe the Zeppole:
Transfer the dough into a piping bag fitted with a large star tip.

Cooking Method

  1. Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).

  2. Shape the Zeppole:
Pipe two concentric circles of the choux pastry onto a lined baking sheet, creating a ring shape with a thicker outer edge.

  3. Bake or Fry:
Bake the zeppole in the preheated oven for 20 minutes or until golden brown. Alternatively, you can fry them in hot oil until they are crispy and golden.

  4. Serve:
Let the zeppole cool slightly before serving. Enjoy them plain, or dust with powdered sugar for a sweet finish!
